On the Third Thursday of every month, Stray H.E.L.P. collaborates with T.A.R.A. (The Animal Rights Alliance, Inc) to provide low-cost spay and neuter services for the cats of Dutchess County and beyond.
Advantages of Spay/Neuter
Spaying and neutering your cat eliminates:
- Millions of unwanted abused or abandoned cats entering shelters every year and millions getting killed for lack of placement.
- The odds of breast cancer and dangerous uterine infections in female cats and prostate problems and testicular cancer in male cats.
- Frustration in resisting the natural urge to mate. Your companion will be less distracted, more easily trained, and a more contented member of your family.
- The animal’s need to roam in search of a mate, decreasing the chances that your pet will become lost, get into fights with other animals, or be hit by a car.
Spaying and neutering is quite simply the most important thing you can do to improve the life of not just your own cat, but help solve the problem of homeless cat overpopulation in our communities. We are grateful for T.A.R.A. and organizations like it that make spay/neuter so affordable and convenient.
Eligibility for StrayHELP Clinics
Any cat or kitten older than three months and weighing more than three pounds can be spayed or neutered.
You do not have to be a resident of Dutchess County to take advantage of our clinic.
